  • Guest:The introduction to this hotel promotes a luxurious resort by the beach that caters for those looking for relaxation in a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately our experience was very different. We booked this hotel as downtime at the end of a 6 week tour of India and Nepal and based on its rating and description assumed that the comparatively high cost (for India) would provide as with a bit of luxury before heading back to the UK winter. In reality and based on our experience when we stayed this is a 3/4 star hotel that caters for large tour groups and Indian business events. What went wrong: * Comprehension of English was poor across most of the people we spoke to and when things went wrong it was a struggle to resolve issues. Yes we can use Google Translate, but this is a hotel that promotes itself as a tourist destination. * Upon arrival we were asked to state our preferences for some specific items. At no point during our stay were the items provided. Why ask if they cannot be delivered? * Breakfast was in a large open plan restaurant that was a sea of uncleared tables being serviced by staff who wandered around looking disinterested. There were more than enough staff but little management. The cleanliness of the tables and cutlery concerned us. * The Wharf (à la carte) restaurant was not available on our first night due to an event that we discovered late on the day was preplanned. The hotel failed to inform guests in advance leaving the only option onsite as the buffet restaurant (serviced by the disinterested staff). * The gardens and pool area had a small number of sun-beds (for what appeared to be a significantly booked hotel) but no sunshades. The only shade available were palm trees full of coconuts. Thankfully the pool attendant kept moving us to new shade and made sure we were not in danger. * The management we spoke to seemed to accept our concerns and offered little explanation. The said they had attempted to telephone us in our room to address our concerns but as we pointed out we were on sunbeds most of the day and unlikely to pick up calls in the room. They could have left a note in the room, contacted us on WhatsApp or through ***********. Did anything go well? * Jayakumar (the pool attendant) was fantastic in keep us in shade and free from potential injury. We rewarded his good service. * the rooms were good, not particularly luxurious, but more than adequate for our needs and well serviced * the gardens and pool are stunning and very relaxing. Despite the hotel being well booked very few people were using the facilities, (ref my view on the target audience) * The Wharf restaurant was good and the food excellent. The serving staff were friendly and the chefs worked non stop. Thank you If you are reading this and thinking that we must be travellers who think they are entitled and difficult to please I will leave you with this thought. We have stayed in some amazing hotels around the world, some for very little cost
  • Guest:Grande struttura sul mare, le camere hanno diverse tipologie, la nostra era al primo piano di una casetta da 4, con un letto enorme. in un’area verde molto estesa, bellissimi giardini. Magnifica piscina, lunghissima che si snoda all’interno del resort come fosse un fiume. Ce n’è un’altra più piccola sulla spiaggia. Molto affollato, qualità del cibo buona ma senza particolari note, pulizia delle parti comuni ( scale, pianerottolo) poco accurata.
